28 days!!??!??!!

Wow! I can not believe how soon May 19th is coming! I am absolutely ready to go, but I still have so much work to get done! I haven't posted here in a while so I figured it was time for an update!

Where to start....I am just getting over being sick which is no fun. I have my last Chemistry exam tomorrow before the final and I really haven't studied that hard for it yet! No sweat though, I have a plan to do well and will get started on it shortly after getting some food.

Classes are finally coming to a close and I couldn't be happier! I am ready for my 1 and a half week break before heading to Florida! I plan on packing and sleeping and eating. Oh and possibly throwing in a round of golf or two.

Speaking of golf! My dad and I got badges to go see the final round of the Masters on April 13th! It was so awesome! The greatest golfers of all time icluding Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods were feet away from us! The downside was that we forgot sunscreen and suffered some pretty bad burns ha ha, but it was worth it!

Well I need to go get ready for my super studying! thanks for reading and I will be sure to give you another update soon!

Nothing like playing the waiting game!

Hello guys! So, 59 days until May 19th, and I am too excited to keep waiting. I really want to go now, but there is a ton of work to be completed before going down. I officially booked a hotel room for the night of the 18th at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort, which is practically across the street from Vista Way! My tentative plan is to leave South Carolina around 6 am on May 18th. I will drive down making a couple of stops. I will arrive around 2 or 3 pm. Check in isn't until 4, so maybe I will drive around checking out the area. Once I do check in I will relax and possibly go eat at Down Town Disney. Then I will get up and check out early so I can go check in at Vista as early as I can :). Sounds good to me so far.

There is supposed to be a get together with the others from USC that got accepted this Saturday, which I of course plan on attending. I have to stay here on friday anyway since the women's basketball team got a bid to play in the NIT tournament. And, because It is being hosted here, all brass players in the band have to attend. Oh well, whatcha gonna do about it? Then on Sunday I have to play in Church for Easter with my sister. Fun stuff.

I have two exams next wednesday. One in Chemistry and one in Calculus....that sucks. And I have a project due in my Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism Management Class on Tuesday. Next week will suck, but that is ok because I will be one week closer to being in Disney! Well that is all I have for now. Thank you for reading!!

Back to the very beginning...a very good place to start

So I am enjoying my freshman year here at the beautiful University of South Carolina. However, this blog is not about school, it is about an opportunity I have been looking forward to for approximately 2 years now. I am of course speaking of...dancing in the rain wearing nothing but...oh no, wait...I mean The Walt Disney World College Program!

So, a bit of background info. In 2006 my family wanted to take a trip to WDW because we had never been as a family. Well, I took it upon myself to do some background research on the WDW Resort. I learned many many things about this truly magical place, but of everything I was seeing, one thing truly caught my eye. It was called the Walt Disney World College Program (WDWCP for short). I began to learn about this program and knew, that once I was in college, I would be doing this program.

I originally entered the University of South Carolina as a Music Education Major. I really enjoy
playing the trumpet and love music in general. Well due to a multitude of reasons I decided to
switch majors. I searched around a bit for something new and ran across the Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management major. I was sold. I spoke with the advisors in the major and they were truly wonderful informative people. So then I figured, Perfect! This really gives me a reason to do the WDWCP! It turns out that it would even get me credit for a course called HRTM 290!

I decided that I wanted to do the Fall Advantage 2008 program after a series of unfortunate
discoveries made me realize that I could not march in the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps for a second year (I marched in 2007 and hope to return again). I sat around waiting, with a few others from the Facebook group that was started, for the new application to go up on the WDWCP website.

Well, long story short. I had my interview on January 24. I thought it went really well, I will be
sure to go into more details in a soon to come post. After 4 weeks to the day of waiting. I had my packet! I was accepted into the Fall Advantage Program in Attractions!!! I accepted, registered and paid my fee and now I will be living in beautiful Florida from May 19, 2008 - January 2, 2009!

Well, thank you for bearing through my historical summary. I will be sure to post here as often as I can, or as often as I feel the need to. And I am sure that I will post many times before my program starts to help pass the time. Thank you for joining me on this exciting adventure!
